Why? What is it about this piece/these pieces?
“A Day in the Life” by the Beatles contains a journey through the real and surreal. The song has a number of different emotional qualities and a range of tempos. Some parts of the song have a dreamlike quality, whereas other parts feel very rooted. Plus my Mum and Dad used to play it quite a bit.
How do you want it shared (quiet memorial, festive dance party, etc)?
Procession in a speaker-lined irregular shaped coffin, with the song playing loud. People can add to the procession in any way they like, with instruments or be silent. The whole ceremony should be outside, preferably in a forest. People can camp in the forest and have a party after, and leave when they feel they want to.
